Ninety To-Dos and Microsoft Tasks
The Microsoft To-Dos integration with Ninety allows users to seamlessly sync their assigned tasks, ensuring efficient task management across both platforms. This integration eliminates the need for manual data entry, reduces the risk of forgetting tasks, and helps users stay organized by consolidating their to-dos in their preferred application.
Permissions Request
Depending on your company's security settings, you may need to request permission to enable the Microsoft Integration. If your company requires this, we'll display a popup during the integration process.
Key Benefits
- Automated Task Syncing: Assigned Ninety To-Dos are automatically pushed to Microsoft To-Do.
- Real-Time Updates: Changes to task assignments reflect instantly in Microsoft To-Do.
- Bi-Directional Syncing: Status updates and deletions sync between both platforms (with limitations, as outlined below).
- Seamless Workflow: Helps teams manage their work in their preferred tool without duplication.
- Microsoft Teams Integration: Access your To Dos with Microsoft Teams via Planner and Outlook, providing broader task visibility.
- Outlook Integrations: Review your assigned Ninety To-Dos in Outlook via Microsoft To Dos, so you can access your work where you need it.

Here's how to set up your Microsoft To Dos integration.
How the Integration Works
- When a user enables the integration, all their assigned Ninety To-Dos are automatically created in Microsoft To-Do.
- New To-Dos assigned to the user in Ninety are instantly added to Microsoft To-Do.
- If a To-Do is reassigned to another user who has the integration enabled, it is removed from the original user's Microsoft To-Do list and added to the new assignee’s list.
- If a user’s Ninety-Microsoft connection is interrupted, an email notification is sent with a link to re-authenticate.
- If a task is deleted in Microsoft To-Do, Ninety archives the task instead of fully deleting it, maintaining a record.
- The integration supports rich text in Ninety but may display differently in Microsoft To-Do due to formatting limitations.
Archiving in Ninety
If you delete a task from Microsoft, that task is automatically archived in Ninety.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need my company's Admin approval to enable the Microsoft integration?
Some users may see a prompt requiring admin approval to integrate Ninety with Microsoft To-Do. This is a Microsoft security requirement; users must contact their IT department to approve the integration.
What if I'm unable to select a Miscrosoft Task List?
If you're unable to select a task list, please contact your IT department to resolve this issue as this is likely due to a permission setting in Microsoft.
Can I create tasks in Microsoft To-Do and sync them back to Ninety?
No, Ninety is the primary source of truth. The integration only syncs tasks from Ninety to Microsoft To-Do, not the other way around.
How often does syncing occur?
Syncing happens in real-time but may occasionally have slight delays.
What happens if my Microsoft connection is lost?
You will receive an email notification with a link to reauthenticate and restore the integration.
What permissions does Ninety require?
Ninety needs access to read and write tasks in your Microsoft To-Do account and read user profile information.
