Organizations running on EOS®️ operate in a 90-Day World®️. At the end of each quarter, they meet to review the previous quarter and plan for the next. These meetings are intentionally designed to bring alignment and purpose to their teams.

Once per year, the quarterly meeting changes to include annual review and planning. Read all about annual planning sessions with EOS here.

Here are the priorities for quarterly sessions:

  • Alignment on the team/company Vision
  • Clear plan for the next quarter
  • Resolve all key Issues

This article explains how Ninety improves quarterly meetings.

Preparing for a Quarterly Meeting

Ensure your team has their information in Ninety up to date to prepare for a successful quarterly meeting.

Quarterly Report

To make preparing for your next quarterly meeting easier, download a copy of your team's quarterly report through Ninety's V/TO®️ tool. Click the graph icon on the far right of the filters bar to instantly generate a PDF of the following information from your team:

  • Scorecards (weekly, trailing, monthly, quarterly, and annual)
  • Rocks
  • V/TO®️
  • SWOT Analysis
  • Accountability Chart

V/TO®️

As I wrote in the quarterly meetings blog, we review the V/TO®️ during the quarterly session to “refresh our active memory of our vision and make sure we’re still on the same page.”

Take this time to align around your Vision, update areas to keep it current, and answer any questions from your team.

📖 Read more of my thoughts on the V/TO here.

We'll automatically archive a copy of your team's V/TO®️ when you start your annual session.

Rocks

Rocks are quarterly goals. Here’s how EOS®️ describes them:

“A Rock is one of the three to seven most important things you must get done in the next 90 days.”

Turning your largest goals into smaller pieces gives your team the capacity to complete their portion of the work and keeps them motivated by achieving small wins every single quarter.

Issues

During your quarterly meeting, you'll review both short and long-term Issues. Ensure the Issues you've identified are clearly detailed so discussions can start quickly and effectively lead to solutions.

  • Short-term Issues are the problems, obstacles, ideas, or opportunities to discuss and solve weekly as a team.
  • Long-term Issues are Issues that you may not have time to discuss during a typical Level 10 Meeting™ or are obstacles/ideas your team couldn't take on during the previous quarter.

Accountability Chart®️

Examining your Accountability Chart®️ before a quarterly meeting gives you and your team the opportunity to create Issues around any structural changes needed, including potential new Seats opening up in the next several months.
